The SLCS Lands Committee is responsible for reviewing prospective conservation easements and acquisitions. It’s a robust committee comprised of Board Members and community members with a broad range of experiences and perspectives. The Lands Committee recommendation is made to the Board of Directors which has the sole authority to approve each project.

Each potential project is selected and prioritized based on various ecological, social, and project conditions, together known as the project selection criteria.  The priority of a project is determined by considering how all the factors fulfill SLCS’s strategic conservation objectives.
